-Flour
1 ts Soda
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 c Sugar
1/2 c Firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c Shortening
1/2 c Peanut butter
1 Egg
2 tb Milk
1 ts Vanilla extract
48 Milk chocolate candy kisses

This was another treasure I found today while looking through my grandmother”s books! She must have been watching over me today! This is off a Prize winning Bake-off recipes ad from Pillsbury. It looks like it came out of a bag of flour. I imagine it is the original recipe…. Oven 375 F About 48 cookies Combine all ingredients except candy in large mixer bowl. Mix on lowest speed of mixer until dough forms. Shape dough into balls, using a rounded teaspoonful for each. Roll balls in sugar; place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 F for 10 to 12 minutes. Top each cookie immediately with a candy kiss; press down firmly so cookie cracks around the edge.
