1 sm Hot pepper; finely chopped
8 c Water
1 c Split lentils; rinsed
2 ts Salt
1 ts Cumin
1 ts Ground coriander seeds
1/2 ts Pepper
1 pn Saffron
2 tb White rice; uncooked
1/4 c Lemon juice
Pureed Lentil Soup Preparation
From: Bulldogfla <Bulldogfla@aol.com> Heat oil in a saucepan and saut‚ onions and hot pepper over medium heat for 10 minutes. Add remaining ingredients, except lemon juice, and bring to boil. Cover and cook over medium heat for 25 minutes. Puree; then return to saucepan and reheat. Stir in lemon juice; then serve.
