Cooking Ingredients for Rice-No-Roni (Non-Gluten) Recipe
2 cn (small) diced cooked chicken
-(or 1 and 1/2 cup diced
-cooked chicken)
2-1/2 c Uncooked rice (I use uncle
-Ben s long grain)
2 tb Butter or margarine
5-1/2 c Hot water
1 c Frozen peas
1 cn Sliced mushrooms (or 1 cup
-fresh)
1 cn Sliced water chestnuts –
-rinsed & drained
1 cn Cooked sliced carrots
-(optional)
1 Seasoning packet from a
-regular box of chicken
-Rice-a Roni*
Rice-No-Roni (Non-Gluten) Preparation
Saute rice in butter until it turns white. Add remaining ingredients, and stir. Bring to a boil. Cover tightly, and simmer for 20 min, or until done. Makes 7 cups. Freezes well * You can just put the rice & pasta from the box away and add it to the kids soup someday, or something.
