Cooking Ingredients for Bienenstich Recipe
1-1/2 Sticks butter or margarine
-softened
1/2 c Sugar
1 Egg
2 c Flour
1-1/2 ts Baking powder
1 ts Vanilla
2 Sticks butter
1 c Sugar
1 ts Vanilla
1 tb Honey
8 oz Blanched almonds; finely
-chopped
Bienenstich Preparation
For crust: Combine 1 1/2 sticks butter, 1/2 cup sugar, egg, flour, baking powder and 1 teaspoon vanilla; spread onto a greased jelly roll pan. For topping: Melt 2 sticks butter with 1 cup sugar. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla, honey and almonds. Mix well. Bring to a boil, stir, let cool and spread evenly over crust.
