1 cn (large) chocolate syrup
2 c Sugar
2 Sticks butter; softened
5 md Eggs (or 4 large)
2-1/2 c Flour
1/4 ts Soda
1 c Buttermilk
1 c Chopped nuts
2 ts Vanilla
3 tb Strong coffee

I think this recipe goes beyond that! This recipe is (shamelessly) stolen from _The Seven Chocolate Sins_ by Ruth Moorman and Lalla Williams. This book is guaranteed to satisfy (if not cure) any chocoholic. Sheer Perfidy [ per-fi-dy: n., deliberate breach of faith, treachery ] Melt candy in double boiler. In separate bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time and mix well. Sift flour and soda together. Add, alternating with buttermilk, syrup and candy. Beat well.
