Cooking Ingredients for Shirley s Bread Recipe

2 c Quick oats
1 c Bran flakes
2 c Boiling water
2 pk Dry yeast
2 c Warm water
1 tb Salt
1 c Molasses
1/2 c Shortening, melted
Flour

Shirley s Bread Preparation

Mix oats and bran flaes with boiling water, mix and let cool. Dissolve yeast in 1 cup warm water. Beat remaining water, salt, molasses, shortening and oat/bran mixture until very smooth. Mix in dissolved yeast. Mix in enough flour to make a firm, not hard, ball. Let rise until double in size, punch down and knead to get bubbles out.
