Cooking Ingredients for Shoo Fly Cake 2 Recipe
4 c Flour
1 lb Brown sugar
1 c Butter
2 c Boiling water
1 c Molasses
2 ts Baking soda
1 pn Salt
Shoo Fly Cake 2 Preparation
Combine flour, sugar, and butter and blend to fine crumbs. Reserve 1 1/2 cups of the crumbs for the topping. Mix together water, molasses, and soda. Add to remaining crumbs. Mix well. Batter will be rather thin. Pour into a well-greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Sprinkle the 1 1/2 cups crumb mixture on top. Bake at 350^ for 45 minutes. YIELD: 12 – 16 Servings.
