Cooking Ingredients for Black Bean Burgers Recipe
3 cn Black beans; rinsed and
-drained
2/3 c Onion; finely chopped
1/4 c Red bell pepper; finely
-chopped
1 tb Jalapeno pepper; finely
-chopped
1 ts Ground cumin
3 tb Sesame seeds; roasted
1 tb Lime juice
1 ts Salt
1/2 ts Peppr
2 tb Vegetable oil
Black Bean Burgers Preparation
In large bowl, mash beans until most are smooth, leaving some intact. Add onion, bell pepper, jalapeno pepper, cumin, sesame seeds, lime juice, salt and pepper; mix well. Divide mixture into 8 equal patties about 3-1/2 inches in diameter. In large heavy frypan, heat oil over medium-low heat. Cook patties, in batches, for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned, tuning once and adding more oil if necessary. Carefully remove burgers from frypan to platter and tent with foil. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Makes 8 burgers.
