1 c Pillsbury s Best All-Purpose
-Flour*, sifted
1/4 c Confectioners sugar
1/2 c Butter
1/4 c Pillsbury s Best All-Purpose
-Flour*
3/4 c Sugar
1/2 ts Double-acting baking powder
1/4 ts Salt
2 Eggs; slightly beaten
1/2 c Maraschino cherries; finely
-cut
1/2 c Coconut
1/2 c Funsten s Walnuts; chopped

Charmin Cherry Bars Preparation

BAKE at 350 degrees for 10 minutes, then for 30 to 40 minutes. MAKES 3 dozen. Sift together the 1 cup flour with the confectioners” sugar. Cut n butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press mixture firmly into ungreased 11 x 7 or 9 x 9 inch pan. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 10 minutes. Sift together into mixing bowl 1/4 cup flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add eggs. Stir in maraschino cherries, coconut, and walnuts. Spread over partially-baked mixture. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 30 to 40 minutes. Cool; cut into bars. *For use with Pillsbury”s Best Self-Rising Flour, omit baking powder and salt.
