Cooking Ingredients for Cornmeal Pastry Cups Recipe

1-3/4 c All purpose flour
1/4 c Yellow cornmeal
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 c Shortening
4 tb Cold water; (up to 6)

Cornmeal Pastry Cups Preparation

(The following pastry cups are used as appetizers-fill them with your favorite chili) Combine flour, cornmeal and salt; cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Sprinkle cold water (1 tablespoon at a time) evenly over surface. Stir with a fork until dry ingredients are moistened. Shape dough into 48 balls. Place in greased 1 3/4 inch tart pans. Shape each ball into a shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on wire racks. Yield: 4 dozen pastry cups.
