1/2 ts Pepper
1 Onion; finely chopped
Ground nutmeg to taste
1-1/2 tb Flour
1-1/2 c Milk
1/4 ts Salt
500 g Frozen pearl onions or small
-white pickling onions;
-peeled
Paprika (optional)

Date: Wed, 20 Mar 1996 11:40:18 +1100 From: sherae@zeta.org.au (Sheri McRae) Heat butter in a 4 cup glass jug, covered with a paper towel, on HIGH for 45 seconds, or until melted. Add chopped onion. Cook on HIGH for 2-3 mins. until softened, stirring once. Stir in flour until blended. Cook on HIGH for 3-4 mins. until sauce has thickened and is smooth, stirring twice. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Combine onions and sauce in a 23cm round baking dish. Cook on HIGH for 3-5 mins. until sauce bubbles, stirring halfway through cooking. Sprinkle, if you like with paprika.
