Cooking Ingredients for Date Loaf Candy Recipe

3 c Sugar
1 tb Butter
1 c Milk
1 pk (8-oz) dates; chopped
2 c Broken pecans

Date Loaf Candy Preparation

Combine sugar, milk & dates. Cook over medium heat & stir almost constantly until mixture reaches soft ball stage (234 degrees). (This soft ball will not roll off your finger.) Remove from heat & stir in butter & pecans & beat until very thick & creamy. Pour onto a damp cloth (not a terry cloth) & roll up & shape into a long roll. Leave rolled up in cloth until cool & firm.
