250 g Self raising flour; (8oz)
1/2 ts Salt
1/4 ts Cinnamon
50 g Solid vegetable oil; (2oz)
125 g Ready to eat apricots;
-roughly chopped
; (4oz)
50 g Walnut pieces; (2oz)
25 g Soft dark brown sugar; (1oz)
150 ml Soya milk; ( 1/4 pint)
2 tb Soya milk for glazing
Apricot And Walnut Scones Preparation
Preheat the oven to 230 C, 450 F, Gas Mark 8. Sift the flour, salt and spice into a bowl. Rub in the fat until the mixture resembles fine bread crumbs. Stir in the apricots, walnut pieces and sugar, add the milk and mix to a soft dough. Knead gently until smooth. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a 1 cm ( 1/2 inch) thickness and cut out 8-10 rounds with a 6cm (2 1/2 inch) biscuit cutter. Transfer to a greased baking tray, brush tops with milk and bake on the middle oven shelf of the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes until well risen and golden brown. Converted by MC_Buster.
