Cooking Ingredients for Arkansas Brown Rice Recipe

1 c Brown rice
2-1/2 c Water
1/2 ts Salt
1 tb Butter or oil

Arkansas Brown Rice Preparation

Wash rice by rinsing in a pan of cool water, pick out floating particles and any unhulled grains. Combine ingredients in saucepan with tight-fitting cover. Bring rice to a boil over high heat; stir once or twice; cover. Reduce heat and simmer 45-50 minutes until rice is tender and water absorbed.
