Cooking Ingredients for Gordo s Chili Recipe

2 lb Hamburger
3 cn Chili sauce
2 cn Catsup
2 cl Garlic
1 c Broth from beef
2 tb Flour
1/4 c Oil
2 c Red kindey beans
Salt to taste

Gordo s Chili Preparation

Cook meat in 4 cups water with garlic, until tender. Salt. Drain, saving broth. Brown flour in oil gradually adding chili sauce and catsup. Add broth and let simmer 15 minutes. Add meat and beans, cover and continue simmering for 30 more minutes. This is from the old (as in early 1940”s) Gordo comic strip.
