Cooking Ingredients for Green Pepper in Tomato Sauce Recipe
1/2 c Thinly sliced onion
2 Cloves garlic; minced
1/4 c Olive oil
2 c Stewed tomatoes or 1 1-lb
-can
2 ts Sugar
1 ts Salt
1 ds Pepper
1/2 ts Basil
4 lg Green peppers; cut into 3/4
-strips (up to 5)
Green Pepper in Tomato Sauce Preparation
Cook onion and garlic in 1 tbsp of the oil till just tender; add tomatoes and spices. Simmer uncovered till sauce is slightly thick, about 20 min. Cook pepper strips in remaining 3 tbsp oil, turning frequently till tender but still crisp. LIft from oil to serving dish; sprinkle with salt and pepper.
