1 c Brown sugar
1/4 c Butter
1 lg Egg
1-1/3 c Flour
1/2 ts Baking powder
1/8 ts Salt
1-1/4 c Nuts; preferably hickory
-nuts
Confectioner s sugar
Hickory Sticks Preparation
Cream sugar, butter & egg. Sift flour with baking powder & salt. Combine flour with creamed mixture & add nuts. Line 9-inch pie tin with paper. Spread batter & smooth out. Bake at 350 for about 25 minutes. Cut in long, narrow stript while still warm & roll in confectioner”s sugar.
