Cooking Ingredients for Hot Fruit Compote #1 Recipe
1 cn (16-oz) sliced peaches;
-drained
1 cn (16-oz) pear halves;
-drained, chopped
1 cn (16-oz) purple plums;
-drained, pitted
1 cn (20-oz) pineapple chunks;
-drained
1 Jar (6-oz) maraschino
-cherries; drained
2 Bananas; sliced
3/4 c Brown sugar
1/3 c Butter or margarine
1 cn (16-oz) applesauce
3 tb Brown sugar
1/2 c Chopped pecans
Hot Fruit Compote #1 Preparation
Combine first six ingredients in 13x9x2-inch casserole. Set aside. Combine sugar, butter & applesauce in saucepan & heat thoroughly, stirring occasionally. Spoon over fruit. Sprinkle with brown sugar & pecans. Bake at 300 for 1 hour. Serve hot. (May be prepared ahead & frozen. To serve, thaw overnight in refrigerator.) Serves 12. HARRIET M.
