2 Juice oranges
4 lg Bananas
5 Moist dried figs
1 c Raisins
1/2 c Chopped walnuts
2/3 c Sweet red wine
Sugar to taste.

Israeli Winter Fruit Cup Preparation

Recipe By : The Jewish Vegetarian Year Cookbook These are not excatly on the theme, so I hope it is ok to post them.I thought that they sounded interesting.These were featured in The Vegetarian Voice ,an EMail Newsletter I get from the Mining Co. Peel and segment the naval oranges, remove all membrane and chop coarsely. Chop figs. Combine fruits in a large bowl. Slice and add bananas. Squeeze juice from juice oranges and pour over fruit. Stir in raisins, walnuts and wine. Add sugar to taste. NOTES : The Jewish Vegetarian Year Cookbook, by Rosa Rasiel and Roberta Kalechofsky. To be released in Spring 1999.
