Cooking Ingredients for Onion Pletzel Recipe
1 c Warm water
1 pk Dry yeast
2 ts Sugar
1-1/2 ts Salt
2-1/2 c Flour (up to 3)
1/4 c Amrgarine, melted
1 c Chopped onion (or more)
2 ts Paprika
Onion Pletzel Preparation
Pour warm water into warm mixing bowl and sprinkle yeast. Add sugar, salt and 2 cups flour and mix. Add additional flour to make stiff dough. Knead 5-7 minutes. Place in oiled bowl, cover and let rise until doubled – about one hour. Punch down, divide in half, copver and let rest five minutes. Place into 2 greased 9 round pands. Brush tops with melted margarine. Spinkle with onion, press onion into dough with fingers. Let rise uncovered in warm place about 45 minutes. Sprinkle with paprika.
