Palak Bharta (Merchants Spinach Pure‚) Preparation

If using fresh spinach, trim, rinse, shred and cook in a covered saucepan with the minimum of water for 1-3 minutes, until tender. Cook frozen spinach according to the packet instructions. Tip the spinach into a colander and drain thoroughly, pressing the green with the back of a spoon to get rid of the excess moisture.
