Cooking Ingredients for Basil/garlic Vinaigrette Recipe
2 c Tightly-packed basil leaves
2 ts Red wine vinegar
1 tb Fresh lime juice
1 tb Minced garlic
1 tb Chopped red onion
1 tb Honey
1/2 c Olive oil
Salt; to taste
Freshly-ground black pepper;
-to taste
Basil/garlic Vinaigrette Preparation
Combine the basil leaves, vinegar, lime juice, garlic, onion, and honey in a blender and puree. With the motor running slowly add the oil until emulsified. Season to taste with salt and freshly ground pepper. May be prepared up to 1 day ahead and refrigerated. Bring up to room temperature before serving. This recipe yields 1 cup of vinaigrette.
