Cooking Ingredients for Sweet Potato Pone Recipe
4 c Grated peeled raw sweet
Potatoes
1 Egg, well beaten
1/4 c Melted butter
1 c Milk
3/4 c Dark corn syrup
1/2 c Flour
1/2 ts Ground nutmeg
1/2 ts Cinnamon
1/2 ts Salt
Sweet Potato Pone Preparation
Mix sweet potatoes with egg, melted butter & milk. Stir in corn syrup. Beat in remaining ingredients. Pour mixture into 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Bake in slow oven of 325 for 2 1/2 hours. Stir occasionally during first hour. Serve hot or cold. When cold, it can be sliced & served with milk or cream.
