1-1/2 lb Round or chuck steak
2 tb Flour
3/4 ts Salt
1/2 ts Pepper
3 tb Shortening
1-1/2 c Stewed tomatoes
1 lg Onion – sliced

Swiss Steak with Stewed Tomatoes Preparation

Preheat to 325. Trim fat from meat, and cut into serving pieces.Combine flour ,salt, and pepper. Sprinkle half the flour into 1 side of the meat, pound in with edge of saucer. Turn meat and repeat on other side. Heat shortening, brown meat on both sides. Add to a 13×9 baking pan. Add tomatoes and onions. Cover with foil. Bake for 2 hours.
