Cooking Ingredients for Swiss Steak with Vegetables Recipe
2 lb Round steak
Garlic salt
1/2 c Flour
1 ts Salt
1/2 ts Pepper
1 ts Paprika
1/8 ts Nutmeg
1/2 c Onion – finely chopped
1 c Mixed vegetables – finely
Chopped
Carrots,celery,green pepper
Tomatoes
Salt and pepper
1 c Beef broth
1/2 c Tomato sauce
Swiss Steak with Vegetables Preparation
Preheat to 300. Cut meat into 6 serving pieces, season with garlic salt, let set in. Mix flour and rest of seasonings. Heat some oil in large skillet. With edge of plate, pound as much flour into meat as possible, brown on both sides. When last batch is turned to 2nd side and onion and mixed veggies.Do not brown veggies. Add all to a 13×9 baking dish. Season with salt and pepper. Pour broth and sauce atop. Cover and bake for 2-2 1/2 hours.
